Black TV Ratings for Week of July 11 - 17
NBC takes No.1 spot with black TV viewers, but still bows to CBS' overall audience

(July 21, 2011) NBC's found more traction with black households thanks to "America's Got Talent." It was the week's only TV show to claim at least one million black viewers. The competition show gave the NBC something to challenge CBS' grip over black viewers, and earned it the No.1 spot on the Top 25.

It wasn't, however, enough to topple CBS from being the most watched TV network again. CBS had 9.2 million viewers for its 11 shows on the chart. NBC finished second with 5.4 million over six programs. ABC notched 3.1 million for four shows.

According to Nielsen data, the total audience for the 25 most popular shows in black homes was 21.3 million, of seven percent fewer than the previous week.
