The Week
of July 10 – 16
'Without
A Trace' takes top spot, All-Star game puts baseball on the chart
(July
19, 2006) There’s plenty of discussion at the moment about the waning
interest of African Americans in the national pastime. Major League
Baseball’s All-Star game, however, attracted nearly a million black homes
for its Fox telecast and tied for the bottom position for the week’s top
ten most popular shows.
The top spot went to “Without A Trace,” a rare feat for the CBS franchise.
It was one of four winners for the network. That tied the same number of
shows UPN claimed on the list for the second week of July. The total
number of black households watching the top ten was 11.5 million, an
up-tick of more than a million over the previous week.
