The Week
of July 9 - 15 ‘Singing Bee’
gives NBC the chart’s No.1 spot; Fox wins the network race (July
18, 2007) It’s now officially the summer season, and the battle to win the
decreased number of viewers at home is in full tilt. NBC, which usually
doesn’t find many of its shows among the top 25, has apparently found a
winner with “Singing Bee.” The talent competition got help from its
Tuesday night lead-in, “America’s Got Talent” which finished third.
The network race was won by Fox with seven shows on the week’s chart. NBC
followed with six shows, trailed by CBS’s five and ABC’s four. The CW
claimed three winners.
The total number of black households watching the top 25 most popular
shows during the second week of July, according to Nielsen, was 20
million. That represents a 11 percent increase over the previous week’s
total of 17.9 million.
