Black Cable TV Ratings for Week  July 1 - 7
BET dominates Top 25 chart for first week of July with original movie and 'The Game'

(July 10, 2013) Following the success of previous week's BET Awards, BET easily captured the most viewers among black cable households during the July 4th holiday week. It took the No. 1 and 2 spots on the Top 25 for cable with the premiere of its original movie, "Being Mary Jane," and its regular scripted series, "The Game." The film stars Gabrielle Union and was produced by Mara Brock Akil, Salim Akil, Kenny Smith, Erica Montolfo-Bura and Kelsey Grammer.

BET was far and away the most watched network in black homes, with 16.7 million viewers across 11 programs. VH1 was a distant second with5.9 million viewers for three shows, followed by the OWN network's 2.9 million for three programs.

The total number of viewers for the Top 25 cable shows in black households, according to Nielsen, increased 4.5 percent over the previous week to 31.9 million.
