‘Charm School’ takes No.1 show; ‘Payne’ specials make TBS top network
(July
12, 2007) VH1’s “Charm School” captured the top position for most popular
cable shows in black households for the first week of July. The reality
show edged out the “House of Payne,” July 4th marathon, which
came close to returning Tyler Perry’s comedy to the head of the chart
after losing last week to the BET Awards.
”Payne” helped give TBS the week’s top network title with five shows. BET
and TNT followed with four each. USA and Disney each had three.
After rising significantly last week, the total number of homes watching
the top 25, according to Nielsen media Research, dropped nearly 21 percent
to 15.7 million.
