Black Cable TV Ratings for Week of June 27 - July 3
Home for the summer, young black viewers make Disney most watched cable network

(June 30, 2011) It has been true almost every summer. Out of school for the summer, the youngest members of black households have consistently made the Disney Channel one of the most viewed cable outlets. For the last week of June they again flocked to its shows.

While Disney had no ratings winners to compete in the top half of the Top 25, overall it attracted six million to seven of its show on the chart. BET came is second with 4.9 million for four programs. TBS had 4.3 million for four Tyler Perry comedies.

Overall, cableís best offerings beat TVís leading shows for total audience. Nielsen reports that 24.7 million watched the Top 25 cable shows in black homes. Thatís a drop of 29 percent from the previous week which was boosted by the live airing of the BET Awards.
