Prudential Financial again teams with The Root on weekly personal finance show

(July 1, 2015) The online video series, The Root Live, produced by Prudential Financial, Inc. and The Root.com, debuted its fourth season. The 16-week series addresses a range of personal finance issues, with new 10-minute episodes running weekly. Programming for the new season continues through August, with new installments airing on Wednesdays via www.theroot.com/therootlive.

The series is hosted by author, media personality and The Root's contributing editor, Harriette Cole and features experts who will answer questions and guide viewers on a variety of other financial topics. The web series features high-profile guests, including Derrick McDaniel, author of "Eldercare: The Essential Guide to Caring for Your Loved One and Yourself," Patrice Washington, nationally recognized personal finance columnist and commentator, and Mandi Woodruff, a personal finance expert with Yahoo Finance.

"The Root Live is a perfect partnership for us," said Mammen Verghis, vice president, Multicultural Marketing for Prudential. "The segments provide excellent content and real live experience and tips on a variety of financial and career issues that Americans are facing today. The Root Live takes important information that is not often openly discussed, and packages them in bite-sized vignettes that are a great lead-in for conversations about sometimes difficult topics about money, family, and even careers."

Verghis said Prudential's objective is to deliver information that helps consumers handle everyday challenges and those that span a career or a lifetime. "The idea is to take a deeper look at some of the issues that hinder social mobility in many of our communities, and potentially keep Americans from achieving their short- and long-term financial goals," Verghis said.
