Black TV Ratings for Week of June 18 - 24
Black viewers were 35 percent of the total audience for NBA championship game

(June 26, 2012) TV ratings for the NBA Finals ultimately lived up to the league’s expectations. The average viewership for the series equaled that of last year, and the deciding Game 5 between the Miami Heat and the Oklahoma City Thunder attracted nearly 12 percent more than the 2011 deciding game. Overall, Black viewers were 35 percent of the 18.5 million total audience for the final game.

ABC was the most watched network of the week in black households, with 21.6 million watching nine of its shows on the Top 25. NBC followed with 6.2 million across eight programs. CBS claimed 3.5 million over five shows.

There was a decline of nine percent in the total number of viewers for the Top 25 to 34 million, according to Nielsen.
