(June 26, 2006) TurnerPatterson, a leader in the licensing and marketing of multi-cultural brands, is introducing two new clients at this year's 2006 Licensing Show -- Soolip, Inc., a Los Angeles-based manufacturer and retailer of cards, invitations and lifestyle products; and celebrated artist Phoebe Beasley Most recently TurnerPatterson structured an agreement between its client, Johnson Publishing Co. and Dan River, Inc. to create luxury bed and bath products for the newly developed Ebony Home brand [Click here for story]. "Our goal is to bring fresh ideas and quality products to a diverse audience," said Debra Turner, Chief Executive Officer of TurnerPatterson. "There has long been a void in reaching out to a global and domestic multi-cultural audience and we hope to make an impact on this emerging field. Soolip, Inc., and Phoebe Beasley have built strong equity in their brands, this is the perfect opportunity to extend their product lines." New to the world of licensing, Soolip, Inc., Co-Founder and CEO Wanda Wen says the company is ready to spread its wings. "Our vision goes beyond paper products. We are interested in creating indispensable items for the home, body and bath products, and an inspired experience with a range of Soolip merchandise for an educated, global consumer." Soolip, created in 1995, is poised to become an iconic brand as a retailer and manufacturer of high-end paper goods, and lifestyle products through its Soolip Paperie & Press, Soolip Bungalow, Soolip Custom Letterpress, Soolip Greeting Cards, Floracopia at Soolip and Entertaining Elephants. The brand's entrée in the luxury bridal market last year garnered praise from customers and top designers alike. Today, Soolip's corporate and celebrity clientele includes Lexus, Inc., and Hollywood's A-list actors Halle Berry, Charlize Theron, Kevin Bacon, Jodie Foster, Sandra Bullock, Steve Martin, Jennifer Anniston, Will Smith, Katie Holmes, Janet Jackson, Hilary Swank, and Lucy Liu among others. For artist Phoebe Beasley, signing with TurnerPatterson as her exclusive licensing agent was a clear necessity. Beasley, whose collages and artwork have received two official Presidential Seals, is celebrated around the world by private aficionados, including Oprah Winfrey, Ervin "Magic" Johnson, Keenan Ivory Wayans, Grant Hill, Bob Johnson and Dr. Maya Angelou. She has also worked with corporate clients and Fortune 500 companies including IBM, Aetna, The Gillette Company, Colgate-Palmolive, Absolut Vodka and Northern Trust to name a few. Beasley was encouraged by her clients to explore and create furnishings, china and other items for the home when frustrated by their inability to find and purchase products featuring their favorite artists of color. The time was ripe, she says, to introduce new cultural ideas to the licensing market. For more information about TurnerPatterson visit the company's website at www.turnerpatterson.com.
