Black TV Ratings for Week of June 13 - 19
Summer arrives and black TV viewers abandon repeats of favorite shows

(June 21, 2011) Hot fun in the summertime for black households apparently does not include a lot of time for viewing repeat broadcast of favorite TV shows. With only six shows in the Top 25 drawing a million or more black viewers, the great outdoors or video games or movies had more appeal.

TV is coming off of the record-setting NBA Finals, and the game proved to be a hard act to follow. CBS jumped back into the most watched network position, with 10.5 million tuning in 13 of hits Top 25 shows. Fox followed with a paltry 4.7 million across five programs. ABC fell dramatically to 3.5 million for just four shows.

The total number of viewers for the Top 25 most popular shows in black households was 22.1 million, or 55 percent less than the previous week, according to Nielsen data.
