Black Cable TV Ratings for Week of June 4 - 10
Record-setting ratings set the stage for hot NBA Finals between Heat and Thunder

(June 14, 2012) The NBA Conference Finals finished with the Eastern match-ups between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics out-drawing the early finish out West with the Oklahoma City Thunder defeating the San Antonio Spurs. Non-black fans grew in number and the percentage of Black viewers slipped in the final rounds from an average of 45% to 33%.

ESPN carried more games and thus took the title of most watched cable network of the week in black households. It had 15 million viewers across game-related shows. TNT's NBA fare gave it 7.8 million viewers for four shows. BET notched 6.7 million viewers for five programs.

The total number of viewers for the Top 25 in the first week of June was virtually the same as the previous week's 40.9 million.
