Black TV Ratings for Week of June 2 - 8
NBA Finals deliver an average of five million-plus Black viewers for game-related shows

(June 12, 2014) The NBA Finals, and game-related shows, easily took the title of most watched programming in Black households during the first week of June. The match-up between the San Antonio Spurs and the reigning champs Miami Heat repeated the five million-plus Black viewers it had in 2013.

Thanks to the NBA, ABC was far and away the most watched TV network in Black homes, with 20.5 million tuning in 12 of its Top 25 charted shows. CBS notched 7.7 million among its nine shows on the chart, while Fox had just three shows on the chart with a total 2.4 million viewers.

The total number of viewers watching the Top 25 most popular shows in Black households, according to Nielsen, was up 75 percent to 31.6 million.
