(June 9, 2012) To kick off June, Black Music Month, WBLS and Cafe Mocha Radio will present its 2nd Annual "Celebrating Women" Brunch in Harlem, New York at the Malcolm X and Dr. Betty Shabazz Memorial & Educational Center,3940 Broadway, New York, NY on Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Hosted by Wells Fargo Bank and the Susan G. Komen For a Cure Foundation, the brunch celebrates outstanding African-American women from the corporate, entertainment and community service fields for their contributions to make a difference in the community and by empowering others. Honorees for the 2nd Annual "Celebrating Women" Brunch include Sheryl Lee Ralph, actress, author and activist; Constance White, Editor in Chief of Essence magazine; Latraviette D. Smith, Vice President, Global Diversity & Inclusion at American Express; Deborah Williams, President and CEO of Her Game 2; and Audrey J. Bernard, legendary media maven and socialite. "It brings us great pleasure to honor five amazing women from different walks of life for their tireless work to serve their community and inspire others through their professional and philanthropic endeavors," said Sheila Eldridge, creator and executive producer of Cafe Mocha Radio. "I always say that women -- especially women of color -- are so vital to the fabric of our communities. The least that Cafe Mocha Radio can do – a show for women, hosted by three women and that aims to empower women – is to salute those who are already trailblazers and those who continue to blaze trails." The 2nd annual brunch will feature a performance by breakout gospel singer, of the BET's "Sunday Best" series, Jessica Reedy. The show will feature an additional surprise performance as well. A portion of the proceeds for the "Celebrating Women" Brunch will help support the Forever Family Inc., a 501 (c)(3) organization that serves children with an incarcerated parent by providing mentoring, homework assistance, and after school care. Heard on Saturday mornings on WBLS 107.5-FM, Cafe Mocha Radio is a weekly weekend show, hosted by Grammy-nominated artist MC Lyte, actress/comedienne Loni Love (E! Entertainment's "Chelsea Lately") and broadcast veteran Angelique Perrin. This event is open to the public. For ticket information go to www.cafemocharadio.com.
