Black Cable TV Ratings for Week of May 28 - June 3
NBA's bigger Playoff audience swings back to eastern conference match-ups

(June 7, 2012, 2012) After showing signs that the NBA games in the Western Conference Finals might draw the larger Black audiences, popularity returned to the east and the Miami Heat/Boston Celtics games. They took No.1, 2 and 3 positions on the chart. Their battle on Sunday, June 3rd was the first to hit four million black viewers.

Overall the NBA claimed the top seven most popular cable shows of the week and had 25.2 million for its games and pre-game shows.

Since ESPN had more of the Eastern Conference Finals games, had captured the most watched network title, with 16.5 million tuning in for seven shows. TNT was second in the cable network race, grabbing 10 million across six NBA programs. BET had a respectable third place with 7.5 million for six of its shows.

The total number of viewers for the Top 25 cable shows, according to Nielsen, was 40.7 million, an increase of 15 percent over the previous week.
