Playoffs keep ABC the week's No.1 network with Black households
(May
30, 2012) Even though "Scandal" had the week off, ABC was able to repeat
as the most watched network among black viewers thanks to NBA Playoff
match-up between Philadelphia and Boston. With 6.1 million total viewers
for the game, Black fans accounted for 40 percent of the TV audience.
ABC was easily the most watched network among Black viewers, with 12.9
million tuning in to 10 shows. The distant second place network was CBS
which attracted just seven million Black viewers across nine shows. Fox
was third pulling in 4.2 million viewers for three shows.
According to Nielsen, the total number of viewers for the Top 25 shows
in Black homes was 27.2 million, down 12 percent from the previous week.
