Bishop T.D. Jakes signs with Premiere Radio Network for daily feature

(May 10, 2006) Premiere Radio Networks has signed Bishop T.D. Jakes, one of the most respected leaders in the African-American community, to host a 60-second feature, “A Power Moment with T.D. Jakes.”  Debuting May 15 on more than 50 stations, it will air twice daily between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m with a 30-second adjacency.

“I’m excited to offer a daily measure of wisdom on health, wealth, spirituality and other motivating subjects,” Jakes said.  “Power Moments are a platform to share hope with my listening friends as they go about their day.  Some of the greatest wisdom I have ever received came in small but potent doses.  One small insight has the potential to change the next 10 years of your life!  Every day I plan to deliver a fresh, informative, and practical nugget to challenge and change people.  Just one powerful moment each day can enhance and maximize every other moment.”

“This is an exclusive opportunity for advertisers to connect a brand to a dynamic leader with a powerful daily message,” Executive Vice President/Director of Sales Rhonda Scheidel said.

Time magazine named Jakes one of the “25 Most Influential Evangelicals in America,” for good reason.  Reaching more than 30,000 individuals through “The Potter’s House,” his multiracial nondenominational churches, and record numbers in the hundreds of thousands through “Megafest,” an annual internationally broadcast family-oriented Christian festival, Jakes inspires and empowers people worldwide with positive, faith-based messages.  These popular messages that encourage people to live life to the fullest will now be brought to radio audiences nationwide.

Latest 'Buying Power' report shows black consumers spending more on home life

As the American economy continues to move sluggishly, African-American households are curtailing their spending in many categories, including food, clothing and basic household items, while investing more in home repair, home entertainment and consumer electronics. Although they are trimming back, black consumers are still spending more than their white counterparts on most of these products.
