Black Cable TV Ratings for Week of April 23 - 29
BET is again week's winning cable network as the NBA Playoffs take off

(May 3, 2012) The first round of the NBA Playoffs got under way last week in a two network game between TNT and ESPN. In the shortened basketball season, there was no shortage of fans tuning in, but the are way down from the last year's first four games. This year they attracted 5.9 million versus 7.9 million in 2011.

BET's shows on the chart beat out the Playoffs by 1.5 million viewers. With "The Game" leading the way at No.2, BET had 8.5 million for eight of its shows, taking the title of week's most watched cable network. ESPN followed in second place with 5.4 million watching five of its NBA-related shows. Almost tied for second was TNT with 5.3 million for four NBA shows.

According to Nielsen, the total number of viewers for the Top 25 cable shows was 27.9 million, or 2.5 percent more than the previous week.
