TV One expands west coast sales office, names Seeta Zieger as Vice President

(May 2, 2011) To take advantage of its growing West Coast-based sales business, TV One has expanded its advertising sales operations, opening a Los Angeles-based sales office and naming veteran ad sales executive Seeta Zieger as Vice President of Advertising Sales for the Western Region. Zieger reports to TV One Senior Vice President of Advertising Sales Lisabeth Hayes, who is based in Chicago and continues to oversee sales outside the Eastern Seaboard.

Zieger has an extensive sales background that includes experience with cable network, digital media/internet, and national cinema companies, and she began her career on the agency side of the business. Most recently, Zieger was Vice President of Advertising Sales for Screenvision, where she was responsible for West Coast sales for national cinema advertising. Prior to joining Screenvision in 2008, she handled West Coast sales for FirebrandTV and Firebrand.com, a unique TV/web/mobile advertising and marketing platform.

She also served as Vice President of Advertising Sales at Current TV in its early days. Prior to that, she spent thirteen years at Universal Television Networks, the last 11 as Vice President of Advertising Sales for USA Network, Sci-Fi Network and Bravo. She joined the cable industry as an Account Executive for Turner Broadcasting,  after having worked on the agency side at J. Walter Thompson and Grey Advertising.

The new Los Angeles sales office will service TV One's growing pool of existing clients and work on developing new business opportunities across the West Coast, including the cities of San Francisco and Seattle.

"Our business on the West Coast has been growing exponentially in recent years, especially in categories like entertainment, automotive and technology, and as the network has grown and matured, it makes sense to expand our presence on the West Coast," said TV One and Radio One Chief Revenue Officer Keith Bowen, who oversees all of TV One's ad sales. "We are delighted to bring on board Seeta Zieger, who has a strong track record, terrific contacts and a tremendous knowledge of the business, to work with Lisabeth Hayes and help lead the expansion of our West Coast sales efforts."

New "Buying Power" report: Black consumers spend as economy grows
Details $507 billion in expenditures

African-American consumers are cautiously increasing their spending in some key product categories, even as they continue to make adjustments in a slowly growing economy. The finding comes from the 16th annual edition of "The Buying Power of Black America" report published by Target Market News..

In 2009, black households spent an estimated $507 billion in 27 product and services categories. That's an increase of 16.6% over the $435 billion spent in 2008. African-Americans" total earned income for 2009 is estimated at $836 billion...
