Black Cable TV Ratings for Week  April 15 - 21
The NBA Playoffs give cable networks a big boost in Black viewership

(April 17, 2013) Though the last games of the NBA regular season didn't do as well the first round of the NBA Playoffs. the league attracted nine million Black viewers (ages 2+) to TNT and ESPN. The games, however, couldn't unseat Bravo's "Real Housewives of Atlanta" from its perch at No.1.

ESPN, not surprisingly, was the most watched cable network in Black households for the third week of April. It attracted 5.3 million Black viewers to five of its programs. Closely following in second place was Bravo, which had 5.3 million for three of its shows. Just as close was VH1 with 5.1 million viewers for four of its shows.

Nielsen recorded 30.6 million viewers for the Top 25 cable shows in Black homes. That's a 12 percent increase over the previous week's total.
