Black Cable TV Ratings for Week of April 16 - 22
BET's 'The Game' takes No.1, but the NBA is the week's real winner on the Top 25

(April 25, 2012) The real winner among cable favorites in Black households during the third week of April was the NBA, as pre-playoff interest was reflected on the Top 25. The eight games and one pre-game show claimed nine million viewers, but the largest audience for any of them was just 1.6 million. Look for that to change as the Playoffs get under way.

BET was the most watched cable network of the week, with 6.3 million tuning in five of its show, including nearly two million for the No.1 show, "The Game." TNT was second in the tight network race, claiming 5.5. million for five shows. VH1 took third with 5.3 million across four shows.

According to Nielsen data, the total audience for the Top 25 cable shows was up two percent over the previous week to 28.6 million.
