Black TV Ratings for Week of April 9 - 15
Black viewers, 'Grey's Anatomy' keep ABC's 'Scandal' competitive on Thursdays
(April 17, 2012) ABC's newcomer "Scandal" is holding its own against the stiff prime time competition on Thursday nights. Thanks to the loyalty of Black viewers (who compose 23% of the show's 7.5 million overall audience) and a solid lead-in from "Grey's Anatomy," the political drama again took No.2 on the Top 25.
"Scandal" is also having an impact on the network race. The usual favorite CBS just barely finished the second week of April as the most watched network in Black homes, with 9.9 million watching 10 shows. ABC closely followed with 9.5 million for seven shows. Fox was third with 4.6 million across four programs.
The total number of viewers watching the Top 25 shows in Black households, according to Nielsen, was down 11% from the previous week to 27.9 million.
