Nielsen data shows opportunity
for mobile advertisers
with
Black
consumers
(April 12, 2012) According to new Nielsen data, half of Black mobile users owned a smartphone (up from 44 percent in Q4 2010) and 58 percent accessed the mobile Internet. That's a greater percentage than any other race/ethnic group. This and other new research from Nielsen illustrates mobile activities among Black consumers and their receptiveness to advertising on mobile connected devices. As consumers increasingly use their mobile devices for social networking, video, research and shopping, it's important for advertisers to understand how Black consumers engage with content in order to effectively reach them. Here are some of the other findings released by Nielsen: - Half of all Black mobile phones users have smartphones. - Of all Black mobile connected device owners, 62% say that they are fine with advertising if it means accessing more content for free. - Sixty-seven percent of Black connected device owners said they researched or looked up shopping info on the Internet through their device.
