Black college
mega-site launches HBCU Connect The Magazine (April
12, 2007) HBCU Connect, one of the largest websites dedicated to
Historically Black Colleges and Universities, has announced the
introduction of its newest media platform – HBCU Connect The Magazine, an
alumni-focused full-sized print publication.
"It's been a long time coming!" says Daniel Moss, Vice President of
Business Development for the growing online community. "This is yet
another venture that has been on the horizon for some time, but we knew it
was a matter of time because we grew from an alumni focus."
HBCU Connect, "The Magazine" is distributed by mail and on-line
subscriptions, at high traffic areas and at alumni attended events of
federally recognized Historically Black Colleges and Universities across
the nation.
"Our mission is to lift up the successes, concerns and issues facing the
Black community, beginning at the core of leadership found at HBCUs,"
offers CEO William Moss. "It makes sense to rally more seasoned community
members who can in turn offer something back to the younger generations."
HBCU Connect is an online-based community formed in 1999 to link graduates
of Historically Black Colleges and Universities. With a membership of more
than 400,000, the community now consists of HBCU students, alumni, family
and friends. The Columbus, Ohio-based company has extended to not only
link graduates, but students, offering money for college, graduates with
employers as well as maintaining an active presence in the HBCU community.
