‘American Idol’ gives Fox week’s top three spots; CBS is the network winner

(March 27, 2007) The “American Idol” juggernaut rolls on, giving Fox first and second place on the week’s list of top 25 shows in black households. “House,” the popular medical drama, rode the talent show’s coattails to a third place finish and not even making the two previous weeks.

The NCAA’s Final Four delivered CBS’ highest rated show on the list, and led its nine entries on the top 25. Fox took second place among the networks with six shows. The CW network claimed five shows, followed by ABC’s three and NBC’s two.

The total number of black households watching the top 25 shows, according to Nielsen Media Research, was 33.4 million. Virtually the same as the previous week’s total.
