The Week of March 12 - 18
'American Idol' keeps Fox on top; ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ has best showing of season

(March 20, 2007) It was business as usual for the nation’s number one show, “American Idol,” as it took the top two spots on the latest chart of 25 most popular shows in black households. The Tuesday broadcast fell just shy of attracting three million black homes. ABC’s med drama, “Grey’s Anatomy,” has its season’s best rating by taking third place on the list.

CBS was again the run away winner in the top network category with nine programs on the top 25. Fox trailed at second with six entries, followed by ABC with five, the CW with four and NBC posting one.

The total number of black households watching the top 25 shows was 31.2 million, according to Nielsen data. That’s drop of 8.5 percent over the previous week.
