Black Cable TV Ratings for Week of Feb. 20 - 26

NBA All-Star coverage down 10 percent in black viewership from last year
(March
4, 2012) The conventional wisdom among basketball fans is that in a
shortened season, those who love the game would want to catch as much of
it as possible. That wasn't the case for viewership of the NBA's
All-Star events on TNT last weekend. Total black audience for the
East-West match-up was down 10 percent from last year, though still over
three million.
The b-ball bonanza made TNT the most watched cable network in black
households for the last week of February, with 12.4 million tuning in
7seven shows. VH1 took second place with 5.9 million for four programs.
TBS was third claiming 2.5 million for three shows.
The total numbers of viewers for the Top 25 shows in black homes,
according to Nielsen, was up 14 percent from the previous week to 31.6
million.
