22, 2007) Fox's “American Idol” continues to steamroll over the
competition for black TV viewers, especially now that contestant LaKisha Jones has
emerged as a favorite. Both airings of the reality talent show took the
Top 25’s top two spots and together attracted just under six million black
households for the second week of February. “House” rode on the show’s
coattails to capture the third position, giving Fox the week’s Trifecta.
The week’s network winner was again CBS, which claimed eight of the Top 25
most popular shows in black homes. Fox followed with six winners. NBC and
the CW both notched four shows, while ABC posted three.
The total number of black households watching the top 25 shows was 35.8
million, a drop of nine percent from the previous week’s total of 39.4
million.
