Interactive One appoints Mariella Bobo Executive Director of Style, Special Projects

(February 21, 2017) Interactive One announced the hiring of Marielle Bobo as the new Executive Director of Style and Special Projects. She joins iOne as a key member of the launch team for their groundbreaking lifestyle platform debuting in the Spring. With more than 17 years of experience in fashion and beauty media, Bobo is widely known as a masterful creative director, Prior to joining the organization, Bobo served as the Fashion & Beauty Director at Ebony Magazine, where she oversaw fashion and beauty coverage, including creative direction and styling for celebrity cover shoots and fashion features.

"I have worked with scores stylists and fashion insiders over the years," says Kierna Mayo, SVP of Content and Brands at Interactive One. "But Marielle is singular. She brings a particular kind of far-sighted, cutting-edge magic to every shoot. When you are on her sets, there is an undeniable artistic flavor that envelops the room. I've seen models and celebs completely transformed after she has dressed them. We ultimately tapped Marielle because as a fashion leader she embodies the spirit of what we are creating next --- something millennial, urban and unapologetic."

Bobo began her impressive career as an agent at Wilhelmina Models. She soon transitioned to Allure magazine as a junior editor covering accessories and fashion. Later, Bobo joined the style department at Hearst Magazine's CosmoGirl and would go on to lend her expertise to Essence, Women's Wear Daily (WWD) Vanity Fair, Glamour and Harper's Bazaar.

"I am thrilled to join forces with Interactive One. This transition to digital is monumental for my career," shares Bobo. "Being able to shape and influence the style and creative direction of a new brand from the ground up has long been my dream."
