Axis Agency names Kevin Hooks senior vp for African-American marketing

(February 20, 2006) The Axis Agency, a Los Angeles-based multicultural marketing agency, today announced that Kevin E. Hooks has joined the agency as senior vice president.

Hooks will further develop the agency’s African-American marketing capabilities and work with clients on integrating multicultural communications strategies into their marketing campaigns.

“Kevin’s background in marketing to the urban market and his leadership skills are a perfect fit for the agency,” said Armando Azarloza, president of The Axis Agency. “More and more companies are focusing on reaching these consumers and we need to provide marketing approaches that drive influences and build brands in organic and relevant ways.”

Hooks joins Axis with more than 10 years of success in marketing communications. As vice president and general manager for UPP Entertainment Marketing, Hooks created innovative marketing programs for some of the world’s largest brands, including Procter & Gamble, Motorola and Bacardi. He also managed the African-American cause-related marketing portfolio for State Farm Insurance Companies.

The Axis Agency is a leading multicultural marketing and communications agency with bilingual and bicultural professionals in
