Ratings for Week of Feb. 4 - 10
American Idol, Grammies are favorite shows; Fox remains week's top network
(February
12, 2008) Only the "Grammy Awards" were able to break up the usual
one-two punch of Fox's "American Idol." Still, talent competitions were
the favorite viewing of black households during the first week of
February. On a percentage basis, the Grammies were more popular with
blacks than whites. Fox's new show, "Moment of Truth," rode Idol’s
Wednesday coattails to a fourth place finish.
The week’s leading network was Fox, which had seven shows on the top 25.
CBS and NBC tied for second with five spots each. The CW followed with
four, then ABC with three.
The total number of black viewers watching the top 25, according to
Nielsen Media Research, was 40.3 million, a 28 percent drop from the
previous week’s total.
