GlobalHue is selected as AOR for Bermuda Department of Tourism

(February 6, 2006) GlobalHue, the nation’s largest multicultural advertising and marketing agency, has been named the agency of record for Bermuda Department of Tourism. GlobalHue will now provide innovative marketing services for BDOT’s general market and multicultural segments. The 18-year-old agency won the account after an extremely competitive review contest with another finalist, Mullin Advertising.

“Visitors from the United States are the backbone of Bermuda’s tourism trade,” said Dr. the Honorable Ewart Brown, Minister of Tourism and Transport.  “GlobalHue demonstrated keen insights into reaching travelers across the country who value fun, relaxation and elegance.”

The agency’s “Bermuda. Feel The Love” tagline and TV, radio and print ad campaign is designed to position the island as an exceptionally convenient, relaxing and friendly getaway that pampers you and caters to your every wish with a smile. The campaign had already generated increased interest and travel from Miami consumers in North America and select markets in the UK and Europe.

“This account represents an opportunity for us to manage and market all aspects of our campaign,” said GlobalHue Chairman and CEO, Don Coleman (above). “Not only will our strategic direction increase travel to Bermuda, but we will fully support all programs and events with our experienced team of professionals.”

Bermuda offers vacationers year-round access to an exceptionally friendly, safe environment with endless miles of pink sandy beaches, world-class golf courses and crystal-clear waters.  Summer activities focus on the beach and excitement; winter activities are golf, spa and relaxation. Direct flights to Bermuda take approximately 1½ to 2½ hours from most gateway cities on the North American eastern seaboard. The “Bermuda. Feel The Love” campaign will kick off in the first quarter of this year.

Latest 'Buying Power' report shows black consumers spending more on home life

As the American economy continues to move sluggishly, African-American households are curtailing their spending in many categories, including food, clothing and basic household items, while investing more in home repair, home entertainment and consumer electronics. Although they are trimming back, black consumers are still spending more than their white counterparts on most of these products.
