Fox trumps the top 25 again thanks to 'Idol;' CBS takes top network honor
(January
31, 2008) Different configuration, same results. Fox's reign over the top
of the most popular shows in black households relied again on "American
Idol" instead of football to do it. Next week's Sunday airing of the Super
Bowl XLII, look for Fox to dominate viewing again.
CBS was the week's winning network with 10 program on the list of top 25
shows. Fox followed with eight, with ABC and NBC posting three each. The
CW claimed one.
The total number of black viewers watching the week's top shows, according
to Nielsen Media Research, was 40.3 million, a 19 percent decrease from
the previous week.
