Black TV Ratings for Week of Dec. 31 - Jan. 6
NFL wildcard game gives Fox network  a strong Black audience for Saturday night

(January 11, 2013) NBC started the year off strong with its NFL Playoff match up between the Vikings and Packers pulling in 30.8 million viewers overall. Black fans tuning in numbered almost four million. Fox benefited from its afternoon NFL playoff game with lots of Black viewers staying on to watch its Saturday prime time shows.

The most watched TV network for the week was CBS, which had 12.4 million Black viewers for its 12 shows on the Top 25. NBC took second with 10.1 million for four programs. Fox had 7.2 million for five of its shows.

Nielsen calculated that a total of 36.4 million viewers watched the Top 25 in Black households, which is the same as the total for the previous week.
