BlackHistory.com launched by two leading Internet entrepreneurs

(January 10, 2008) With February fast approaching, and plans for observing Black History Month in place across the country, two successful African American Internet entrepreneurs have come together to launch a new web site dedicated to the event.

William Moss, founder of HBCU.com, and Dante Lee, founder of BlackNews.com, have formed a joint venture to launch BlackHistory.com. The site is a free online encyclopedia that features information, pictures and video content about African American accomplishments.

"BlackHistory.com is a valuable asset to students and professionals looking to conduct research, but also to advertisers who want to show their strong support for Black History month," said Moss.

The site is also a social networking platform that allows African American visitors to chronicle their own contributions to Black History and to connect in a way like never before. Members can interact with each other and post profiles, pictures, and even history-related content.

Lee and Moss were able to acquire BlackHistory.com in September 2007, and immediately began working to transform it into a valuable resource. They then formed a new Columbus, Ohio-based company, Lee Moss Media, as an umbrella for the site and to combine their resources and the millions of monthly visitors that currently visit their other web sites.

"We expect BlackHistory.com to be very huge, attracting millions of visitors this year," says Lee. "This is bigger than anything we've ever done."
