Ratings for Week of Dec. 31 - Jan. 6
Football gives NBC the tri-fecta for the week's top 25 most popular shows
(January
8, 2008) NBC has the NFL to thank for giving it a clean sweep of first,
second and third on the week’s chart of top 25 most watched shows in black
households. The Jaguars and Steelers match-up and the pre- and post-game
shows all attracted more than three million black viewers and gave peacock
network its strongest showing in months.
CBS continued its dominance as the leading network with black viewers by
posting 10 shows among the top 25. NBC had seven winners, while Fox had
four, ABC drew three and the CW with one.
The total number of black households watching the top 25 during the first
week of the new year, according to Nielsen Media Research, was 40.01
million.
